Great work William. Remember to carefully read your work ( in a quiet voice to yourself) before publishing, and also ask a buddy to read it to you as well ('Partner Check') so that you can be sure all the sentences make sense, particularly your tenses. For example, your last sentence should read 'Dad and Pete fed the bird' to indicate that the feeding of the bird happened in the past.
